OK- I have the following
Line6 DuoVerb
FCB1010
various MIDI rack efects.

What I want to do is stack a series of presets so that when I hit, let's just say preset 1, it creates the predetermined set of effects- preset two, let's say, has a new preset sound with the DuoVerb and a different set of rack presets.

I'm sure for a digital guy it's got to be easier than an old analog guy like me.

Your help is greatly appreciated- I need to be baby-stepped a bit until I can figure this out :)

You will be using midi program change commands to switch between presets, and here's how it's done.

Your FCB1010 can send 5 program change commands on 5 separate midi channels, so set every processor involved to a different midi channel. Start with channel one for the DuoVerb, channel two for the first midi rack effect, channel three for the second midi rack effect and so on.

The key to getting the sounds from the various units to change to what you want at the same time is in the 'Patch Map' or 'Prorgram Change Map' that each of your devices contain. Some may have more than one, but one is all you'll need for now.

First, get a sound that you like and want to use as preset number one all set up with all your various processors. Then write down the program numbers for each device - for example. program 45 may be 'The Edge Chorus'. Then go to the program map page and map program 45 to midi program change number 1. Reapeat this procedure for all the devices, save the results to all of them and then step on the footswitch to send Preset number one. All of the devices should fall into line.

Repeat the above for each sound you'd like to set up and think you'll use, but instead of having the midi program change number read 1 for the second preset use 2 instead. Then 3 for the third, etc.
