so wait, buy cubase se, and then upgrade?

i REALLY REALLY want a new cubase software.....been thinking of sound forge too.........but NO, CUBASE!! I have Cubase VST/32 5.1 right now, love it. i was wondering, should i start with cubase SE right now, and if i like, i can upgrade to SL, if i need to? is it worth it to make the jump from VST to SL?

If you have VST, I would upgrade to SL or SX3. I don't know for sure if Steinberg is still offering upgrades from VST, you'd have to check out their Website to find out. It currently appears that SL3 is not shipping yet (you can't order it from their site). SX3 is.

I'm using SX3 and love it - some nice new features and improvements on old ones. A maintentance update is on the way in a couple weeks too.

In my opinion there is no need to immediately jump to Sl or SX. SE is built on the SX 1 engine.

There are a few omissions vs SX and SL 3. Up to you to see if you need all the features of SX or SL.

There are comparision PDF's on the cubase site. Mind you: mistake in the charts: SE has 10 undo's not 1.
