OK, I was debating on the 1010lt, 1010 (would have had to be used), and the C-port dsp2000 (maybe used, but could have saved for awhile longer to get new). I settled for the 1010lt. Just bought it at www.digitalproaudio.com (thanks Gidge ;)) for $249 and they have free shipping on M-Audio products right now (emphasis added in case someone is reading this half asleep :D. Can't beat that deal with a stick.

I got sick of watching on ebay where the idiots would come out and bid a "new" one (no warranty card) up to $230-$255 when I can get a brand new (and less shady) one for this price

The way I got if figured is this is a damn nice card & a big step up from my SBLive Value. It isn't where I want to end up (1010 would be nice) but I have so many other things to save $$ for right now (monitors, new elec. guitar or new neck on old one, new mics...the list could go on). So I'll use this for now and then sell it to some sap on ebay for 80% of this price in a couple of years. Plus I still have $40 left in my gear savings fund starting to work toward the next purchase (monitors, or getting elec guitar fixed, or new mic...decisions decisions.

Anyway...I guess this is a long winded way of saying that if anyone was in the market for a 1010lt this ain't a bad deal :D.

Later.

Congratulations!! I wept... :)
maybe one day when I grow I`ll get me one like yours. I`m still using one of the "Destructive Live" cards.

Me TOO!! on Friday.

GC price matched it for $249 and took 5% off cause I had a letter thing from being on the Mars mailing list!!! Then I gave the Digital Pro Audio printouts to some dudes who were there to pick one up.

I got the last one (I think, they couldn't "find" the other one "in stock") so who knows what kind of crazy deal those guys got.

Screw you SB Live platinum, your day has finally come!!

Rock on!

Although...I will be keeping the SBLive to experiment with soundfonts that I don't know much about yet...oh yeah and I still like to play the occasional game of Unreal Tournament or Unreal Tournament 2003 :D.

I will just have to pull out either my midi card (midiman 2x2) or the modem card (don't need that as I have cable). Or some other PCI device to make some room :D.

Yeah mine's gonna go in an old computer...

But if it didn't cost so much, I'd work it over with a louisville slugger.

Goodbye muddy bass and constant sample rate conversions!!!

Jag - not sure I understand the difference between 1010 and 1010LT (besides no breakout box), but why did you need the 8 in X 8 out configuration? I thought you were pretty much a solo act.

(Great price, btw.)

Main differences between the 1010 and the 1010lt (other than the break out box) are the 1010 has balanced ins & outs, lt doesn’t, the converters on the 1010 are better & external (slightly less noisy) and I thought I read somewhere that the 1010 might have a better word clock, or at least the ability to add a better one down the line.

I was contemplating a Delta 44 or Delta 66/omnistudio as well. The reasons I got this were 1) great price, 2) convenience ( I will be hooking up my Audio Buddy, keys (stereo) & Pod (stereo) and leaving them hooked up and ready to go and 3) someone quite awhile back posted the specs for all the delta cards and from what I could divine the 1010lt converters were just a tad better than the 44 or 66 and some of the other specs were just a little bit better (although probably not enough to notice any difference) on this end of the food chain :D. The 66 omni would have worked great too with the 4 balanced plus other routable stereo ins for keyboard. But that was another $150 so I decided I couldn’t beat this for the price and start saving up for the other things I need. 5) Future expandability…just in case & for the price…what the hey. You never know…I may acquire a drum set some day or find a need to record some other folks. Plus I figured I could use some of the additional ins & outs to patch analog effects. I have a Digitech multi-effects unit I haven’t used in years. If I recall some of the reverbs on there were decent sounding. I might just be able to use that and maybe some of the other effects as well (I can’t even remember what all it does anymore…it’s like having a new toy to play with all over again, and if I don’t like it…I can ditch it on ebay :D).

Can you tell I didn’t think about this purchase very much? :D. I’m actually relieved it’s made…although if anyone else has any ideas I’m sure I can still sent it back and get something else before I open it up :D.

Plus...I can send you better vocal tracks now :D

LOL. :D

BTW, hadn't thought about the convenience aspect of keeping things hooked up all the time. Good idea. Let us know how you like it (or should we just watch Ebay to find out :) )

the Delta 1010 lt has the AKM 4524 codecs....same as Delta 44,66, Aardvark Direct Pro, and many similar cards.....the fact that they are on the pci card is an issue, but my Audiophile converters are on the card and its still pretty damn quiet and clean....one of the best sounding cards out there (Lynx)has converters on the card.....the 1010 has 5383AD and 4393DA converters so the AD is a step up, but the 1010lt's are still very good.....

unbalanced inputs will only cause a problem if your cable runs are really long.......

their is a wordclock i/o on the 1010lt......

if money is not an issue, the 1010 would be preferred but the 1010lt wins hands down in bang for the buck......

and Id love to quit having to reach behind my rack to plug and unplug....:(

how much is sperm going for these days?......
