I did about 15 songs for a local band and I just wanted general opinions on the quality of the recordings I did for them.

We did it in three sessions. I don't know if people can tell the difference between the sessions. Hopefully not.

These are not "fully" mixed, but they're close and that's why I'm posting them on here for opinions on what's lacking, what's not, etc.

I just added some parallel compression on a bunch them so the kick my stick out a little too much on some. Have to listen to them on a few systems before I'll be able to get it perfect.

Make sure if you reply you tell me what song you listened to! :)

H-Bomb
Leader's Job
Pillage and Plunder
Ol Gooding
Ignorance
Falling Off the Wagon
Beaver Dam
Whole Hearted
Superiority

And damn, that's all I'll post. Don't wanna post their entire album. Haha.

For people wondering, these were all recorded on CL7602 on kick and snare, m12 pres on the rest of the drums, 7602 on guits, m12 pres, 7602 and UA610 on the bass, and 7602 and UA610 on vox.

D112 on kick, m-201 on snare, mxl 603s on ohs, senn e609s on rack toms, 57 on floor tom, 57s and hrm-10 on guits, radial jdi/j48 or countryman on bass as well as d112 or some mic I don't remember on the speaker, and u195 on vox.

All through delta 1010 (w/ black lion mod) and mixed in Sonar 6 with a uad-1 and free plugs.

Whole Hearted..... bass guitar might be a tiny bit loud, but everything else sounds really good. Balance/panning/levels etc. Nice recording job....

:) :D :) :D

Listened to Ignorance. Cool 60s folk singer style in the minimalist arrangement. Vocal sounds great. Guitar's mic'd nicely but I think the guitar performance isn't up to the same quality as the vocal. I'd retrack the guitar to get a cleaner take. Or add more parts to cover it a little.

Thanks for the listen. That is the first time I had ever recorded an acoustic guitar so I didn't know how well it turned out compared to other stuff. I'll take a listen and suggest retracking to their singer/guitarist. It's really easy to setup and redo. :)

I really like the "H-Bomb" tune. The finger squeaks, the Jewish Jam vibe. It's flat, nicely mixed and a tight recording. I really like it. When I can I'll listen up to the rest.

Who says tamborine's don't rock?!

Seriously,...cool.

I love the tamborine! Thanks for the compliments.

Listened to all of 'em. One common thing is... there is bass, I can here it, but I kinda expect to "feel" some sort of bottom end, and I don't get that feeling. I hope that made sense. And, as others have said, maybe a bit dry sounding on some cuts. I like the way things are spread out. Different things have their own space. No fighting for position.

listened to beaver dam....cool vibe man, dig the regge vibe, nice and tight.Sounds real cool on my phones....maybe fatten up that bass/kick a bit.Nice guitar work on this one.End was pretty cool, the "evreynight is ladies night at the beaver dam".....Cool lyrics as well.I enjoyed this one.

Hbomb- the vox could sit a little better. More bass!
Leader's Job - Sweet
Pillage and Plunder - Guitars are a little far back in the mix most of the time
Ol Gooding- Great!!

Thanks to everybody for your listens. Your feedback means a lot. I'll work on getting the bass guitar to hit you a little harder. :)
