My Tech buddy and I have decided that anyone who wants one, and has attended the fest will be able to score one of these hand built tone monsters for $475,.... Speaker cab is extra,..... and will be according to what you want,... IE, single 12", single 10", twin, or Quad 8", (go for the quad,....) all will be around the $200 mark, give or take,or any combination of those,.....

The amp itself is a hand wired class A beauty, and we will include a complete extra set of tubes for tone diversity,..... Choice there as well,... as this amp is self biasing,.. and has a tube rectifier,... so the Pre-amp tube, as well as the Power tube can be changed without reguard to adjustments,.... as for your choices,..... this is what we tried at the fest,.....

Comes with a 6V6,... and I have several brands to fit your taste,..GE,Tung-sol, Delco,RCA, and several more,... and as for others that will work,... anything that fits into the same socket,... 6L6, 5881, 6550,EL34,and several others,... also in many varieties,.... RCA,etc...

just Email me, and I can give you delivery dates,... and other info so you can make an informed decision,....

After we get this thing established,... the price to the general public will be MUCH more,...... to give you all an idea of value,..... John Mayers guitarist uses a similar amp head by T.H.D., and that beast goes for over $1200,.... just for the head,........same idea,.... self biasing,... and a real tone monster,.....

Place your orders now for delivery before Xmas,.... takes a bit to get all the pieces,.... so,.... give me a bit of notice,.....

Seeing as how nobody else has responded, I'll ask you if you'd be kind enough to sell a fellow home recordist one at the price listed ($475 plus 200 for a cab) even though I didn't go to Jamfest this year anyway. Are you willing? Let me know...I'd truly be interested in it.

I'd really be interested if it was low wattage. How many watts is the thing? I'd be all over this deal if you could make me a little 5-watt beast.

We will build one for anyone who wants one, as long as the tubes I have last,... and if popular enough will continue after that,....

Rich,... yes, and we have a dialog happinin already....

and...Scott,...... the wattage depends on how it is tubed,... it is a very simple hand wired point to point Class A beauty,... tone to die for,... and that changes with the tubes,.... we will include a complete second set of tubes for your tone bending pleasure,... all either NOS, or at the very least Old,...... all guaranteed to sound awesome,.....

as I said, watts are acording to what is in it for a power tube,.... a 6V6 puts out anywhere from 6 to 15 watts,.. part depending on the preamp tube,.... a 6L6 puts out about 20 watts, as does an EL34. and so on,....... the amps we will start to build, will be just the head to begin with, as I have not found a local builder of the cabs yet,... we may attempt that too, but I want to concentrate on the heads first,..... altho, I did just get a box full of 8" ememnence speakers,..... I am thinkin a quad * cab would be kinda sweet,.....

as for the ins, and outs,... 1 of each, 1/4" and an on/off switch,... with a volume control,... that's it,.... simple, beautiful tone,..... anything other than that can be done with out board gear,.... compress, fuzz, or anything to do what you want,... but,... just listen to it straight up first,... you will be amazed at the sound,....

At the fest we put it thru a twin 12 I put together from a couple of old Celestions from an old Marshall cab,.... man did it sound sweet,.....

just Email me for any further info, and or orders,...

After further discussion, and finishing a small single 10 cabinet,.... Andy and I have come to the decision that to make this lil amp affordable to a lot more people,... we will start the price at $499 with a small speaker cab to match the head,... which is now done, with a Stainless steel grill on the front,..... we will have at least 4 to sell by Holloween, or so and we are thinking of doing another model with 4 8" and a single 12" sort of a combo cab,.... we have the speakers already, and I just finished cutting and polishing 5 chassis blanks so we are sort of in production now,...... send any further questions to me at..

Thanks guys,....!!!!!!!!

Steve-

Ya GOT to show us a pic here whenever you have a head/cab finished.:D I know by the end of the year I'll want a 2-10 or a 1-12 if youre on to those yet. What are you covering them in? I personally dig red or orange tolex.

Oh, and what are you guys calling this beast?

H2H

The first one that is actually .... finished,... is a cream colored tolex, with a grill cloth of brown and gold,..... and the lil head fits inside the speaker cab very nicely,...... has a Carvin 65 watt 10" speaker that sounds awesome,... I have two 75 watt original fender speakers coming,... and already have several 8" emenence speakers,... Andy said the next one will be a 12", and quad 8" in the same cab,.... wedge shaped kinda like a Motion Sound amp.
The 12" on one side, the quad 8" on the other,..... we plan on having either a switch for going between the two setups,... or a three way switch for one or the other, or both,..... with the amp head still in its own lil cab, and still fitting inside the back of the speaker cab,......

I did make the chassis a little bigger than the original,... just to give us more room for situating things,.....

Have not arrived at a price for the new configuration,... but should be fairly close to the other price,..... I do think that the $499 will be a fair price for what the customer is getting,..... the amp head,... two complete sets of tubes, and the speaker cab,.... all setup and ready to rock,......

I went over and tried out the first model today,... and with either an electric, or acoustic plugged into it,.. it sounded very clean, and extremely sweet,..... but then,... I may be a bit colored by the fact that we are gonna be selling these little gems,.....

I don't mean to brag, but,.... it sounds much better than amps costing quite a bit more,..... and at least equal to some of the very expensive boutique types that I have heard.....

but again, I don't want to sound to much like a salesman,.... it is a great lil amp thats a fact.....

Steve

OK folks,... how bout some offers,... I have not had any real takers on these,..... so,.... maybe I am wrong, and people really don't want a small, quality amp,.....

I thought maybe someone here would be interested in a low wattage handwired premium tubed amp,... but so far,.... no one has stepped up and ordered one,.... is the price out of line,...?? is it that nobody wants a small tube amp,...?? what,....

the price,...??

let me know somebody,......

we have another 5 that are in progress,.... am I wasting my time,.....??

I just spent some more money on another speaker,.... should I quit now or keep goin,...??

Steve

it's too pricey

I guess no one else wants to say it so I will. It sounds like a lot for an introductory price on an amp that we can't hear or try. It's not a collectable (yet). There are some vintage tube amps out there that are going for less. What you need is the endorsement of a well known guitarist but then you'd have to ask a lot for them to pay for the endorsement. Maybe you could get a review from one of the guitar magazines.

Please don't misunderstand, I am not knocking your product. The pics look like it is well made and I'm sure it sounds good. Many of the well known names have started like you are. I salute your efforts and hope you succeed.
Good luck.

Well, I'm certainly interested but what does it sound like? Not everyone could go to Jamfest.

I think if you put together some good sound clips of what the amp sounds like at different guitart volumes, different amp volumes, and even different guitar models then you'd start to get some takers.

Also, you don't mention a warranty or satisfaction gurantee. If you add those it'll help sales.

What kind of gain are we talking here? Bluesy, tweedy gain? Marshall gain? etc?

Also, the THD model (assuming the Flexi-50) has a lot more features, like effects loop, that justify their asking price.

Peace,
Brad

Definately cool. I've been checking out some small amps to add to the studio. Most of them have been solid state though. A little tube amp would really be nice. I'd like to hear some clips first. Cranked up all the way by itself and then maybe with an overdrive/distortion pedal.
