Anyone remember the Wallflowers first cd, bringing down the horse? The first track I think was one head light or something. I heard it on the radio today, and had forgotten how good that snare sounded. Its also on a cheesy 10-10 phone commercial Does anyone know what they used or how they recorded it, or what effects they used????????

No one ever listened to the Wallflowers? I thought they were a really good band. And that snare is unforgettable.

I THINK I read somewhere that it was a Black Beauty, but honestly I can't remember for sure.

(A new thread may be in order getting opinions of the best snare sounds ever recorded. Whatever is on "One headlight" and the way it was recorded fits so well that I can't imagine the song without it. Ansley Dunbar's snare on a few of Journey's "Infinity" songs is incredible to me as well.
Bonham's snare sounds just go without saying.)

Wow, that's crazy because I just heard that song on the radio like a week ago and thought the same thing. That snare is absolutley amazing sounding. Unfortunatley, I have no idea what snare it is, so I cant help.

That is a good sounding snare. However, I've found that the older I get, the lower my snare tuning goes!
