I was impetuous and purchased a usb mic before researching the pros and cons-stupid-I know. I have absolutely no monitoring from the mic when I record-not even in recordings that are not accompanied by other tracks. I would appreciate any input on this matter-thanx.

Try bring that USB microphone back and getting a real microphone and an interface.
