SM57 or e609 for metal/distorted guitars?

I'm looking to purchase another microphone for micing my amp for live shows and for some recording.

would you reccomend a 57 or the e609?

I've used both and I currently use the E609S....I wouldn't turn back.

Are you talking about Marshall type distorted guitars, Boogie type, Digitech type? You really need to try these things with your sound to find this out. They both work depending on the situation.

i'm talking about boogie.

heavy/hardcore metal style of guitar, like disturbed, linkin park, godsmack etc.

The 609 would be the safer choice.
