SM57 come through again

I did a two day fashion show in Vermont this past week and the producer wanted just one microphone at a single podium for ALL announcers. Tall and short - loud and soft spoken.

Just pulled out a trusty 57 and didn't give it a second thought.
Got tons of complements on the sound quality. Even the video crew said that they were amazed by the quality and wanted to know what I used for a microphone ( I had the 57 windscreen on it).
I love masking the 57 in that way so as even most people who are around microphones can't tell that it's a 57.

Any ways the secret weapon prevailed once again - Clenched fists on hips with cape flowing in the air. :cool:

I searched all Vermont Fashion Shows on google and looked for a sound guy with a cape and found this....

Uuugghh.....I just had vomit come up in my mouth.
On a different subject, has anyone ever done the 57 mod where the tranny is removed? I'm thinking about giving it a shot.
 
Cool. I've seen that on the Mercenary site before. I've got 6 57's and would rather mod one than buy another.
 
I believe if you ask they will send you just the tranny.

Every town in New Hampshire has a Larry and his two brothers Daryl.

Newhart has to be my all time favorite TV show!
It was such an honor working for Bob when he toured through New England after that show ended.
His stand up comedy is where it's at.

Did you happen to catch the last episode?
