Hi All,

I am looking for some advice on recording acoustic guitar. I have a Bluebird Large Diaphragm condenser, and an SM57 dynamic microphone. Will these two mics be okay to use together for Stereo (A/B) pairing? I'm trying to get a nice full sound with the Acoustic guitar at the forefront in the mix.

Thanks!

Yes you will be fine. I would use the SM57 as the main microphone - then use the Bluebird to capture everything else - but if you experiment you will discover what works best.

Try it and see! Why ask, when you can quickly set it up, record a test track and then listen? You will need to try out different mic positions, swapping the 2 mics, etc.

Don't forget this is NOT A/B or even stereo, it';s just two mic recording of a guitar then blended. A guitar recorded in stereo from more than ten feet is pretty much mono!
