Slowing down drums at end of song

Not of sound mind
O.K., here is my situation:

Due to financial limitations and living arrangements (apartment), I don't have drums at present. So, I've been using this drum program (Drumsite), which lets my program sampled drums and export them to a .wav file. I then import the file into my recording software (Cubase SE) and track the rest of my song.

Here's the problem: several of my songs slow down at the end. I am trying to figure out the best way to sync the drums to the song as it slows down, as there is not a set tempo to this, just a gradual slowdown.

Any ideas of how to accomplish this effectively would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

Why not just program the drums in Cubase as a MIDI track, and assign the track to a vst sampler with your drum samples, and then use MIDI tempo change on the whole song (Which gives you the added advantage of syncing up any other sequenced parts with your drum track).

I'm not familiar with drumsite, but if you can export standard midi files, you could import those directly into Cubase as MIDI tracks, and then assign the vst sampler to that track.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check that out. I don't use any MIDI sequencing at present, so I'll have to do some further reading.

Slow down

Well, I know that Drumsite has a feature that if you click on the button that says snap to grid so as to unsnap your hit entries. You can put your hits whrever you want and they dont have to be on the beat or on a beat division so you can program a gradual slow down if you want. Getting it to match an existing song might be tricky. Best to do the drums first, then lay down your other tracks.

or......you can take sections of the audio and time compression and slower the audio and you can get the effect by doing it sections at a time decreasing the tempo each time....are you doing thing gradual slowing as the song fades out?

or you could change the tempo signature in your MIDI notation program. I use noteworthy composer but. whatever you use you could change it. or.. you could get a program that converts midi to text and manually add tempo tags that are progressively slower.. when its done you save it as a midi and import it into Drumsite and then save it as a wave and wallah. You got slow down effect.

course you posted that question over a year and a half ago.. so hopefully you figured it out already ...hehe... but someone else might be interested..

There's a sound shifter plugin that Waves makes... (I'm too lazy to boot up my other computer to check the exact name.) The plugin emulates tape manipulation, ie. speedinging up and slowing down according to tempe, pitch, etc.... however, this would lower the pitch of your drums, but if you're into those kinds of sounds, it could be great.

Kind of like Violent Femmes did on "Lies."
