I have a delta 44 using cep. I recorded a song and find a slight crackle sound every so often. I tried moving the Latency selection and even the buffers in cool edit pro but it persists.

It almost sounds electrical in nature. I placed an mp3 on my site if you might listen to it and see if you can figure out what it might be. I spent hours trying different settings but it always shows up.

Thanks a mil

Sounds to me like it could be coming from your floor when you shift your weight. Try moving your mic to a different location.

Interesting observation. It kinda does sound like that. I am on a cement (rug cover) floor though.

Thanks

i could hear the crackle better if you could record some silence......

"i could hear the crackle better if you could record some silence"

I tried that by just leaving the microphone on and recording but it does not make the noise then.

This is driving me crazy. :(

theres a clue in there.....

It still sounds like a crunchy sound as opposed to electrical. When you recorded silence there was no crackle which is consistent with being caused by movement (unless you were lipsingin :)). I'd try a different mic stand or maybe a different mic at least to count them out as a source of the problem
