hi,
i used to use home studio 9 and if i double clicked on a certain section of audio, i used to be able to slide any audio clip i was viewing forward or backward in time by any amount.
with sonar xl, i cant do this. does anyone know how to go about doing this? is there a different way with sonar xl?

You should be able to just left click and hold on the audio clip and drag it to wherever you want it - including to another track.

To make very subtle adjustments, highlight the clip and go to Edit -> Slide. You'll get a popup window where you can enter how much you want to move the clip (in measures, ticks, or seconds). Negative numbers move it to the left, positive numbers move it to the right. I use ticks when I want to make small movements. Make sure to select it. Oftentimes I forget (the default is measures) and want to move it 5 ticks and the clip disappears on me (because it actually moved 5 measures :) ).

Also, make sure you have the snap to grid turned off, otherwise you can only move it to the start of a measure.

excellent!!!!

Thanks dachay2tnr,
thats exactly what i was looking for. with sonar, i dont have to double click the audio i want to slide. with HS9 i had to. ok, now we're moving along here!!!!
Thanks again!!!!
