A long while ago I compiled a pretty long list of freeware plugins for some guy and posted it to the n-Track group. Tonight the question came back up and I decided to find that old list and stick it up on my website. It's all current as of today:

It's a static list at the moment...don't have time for anything too fancy.
You should be able to find over 150 free plugins and virtual synths (instruments).
