Hi? I'm having a problem that has been getting on my nerves lately. For some reason when mixing or recording some of my projects in Cubase Sx the audio will skip or even slow down and drop out and then catch back up to the normal tempo, as if the hard drive or cpu is under heavy strain and its trying to catch up. This happens in random spots in my projects. Most of the time this event comes about when my cpu performance is near the 60-70 percent mark. I usually use very few if any insert effects, I use around 6-7 send effects and I offline process ALOT to save cpu power. My specs are a ST Audio Dsp 2000 C-port sound card, Athlon 805 mhz cpu, 2 hard drives (54000 rpm system, 72000 rpm audio) Win 2k Pro, 768 Ram, Cubase Sx 1.03, and my system is tweaked to the max. I use the highest amount and size disk buffers because my card has direct monitoring, I also have the Cubase Sx priority at its highest setting. Is there any reasons this may be happening and a way to fix it? I was thinking that bouncing tracks would do the trick but I would like to keep everything in the same project without bouncing if I could get this problem solved. So if there are any fixes, tips, tweaks, or advice available out there, plz let me know. THX in advance.
