that's the first song i've finished on my band's album. not finally mixed or anything, but pretty close to what it'll probably sound like. its the first big project i've ever done and i'm pretty happy with the results.

recorded in sonar with an sblive.

sounds Crytalized.
IS that the correct pitch that I am hearing or is the sample rate off?

Roll some of that Top end off for starters.

And if you are going to continue using a Creative Labs soundcard, get an Audigy. You will hear a huge difference between the Sblive and a Audigy.

i don't really know what you mean about the sample rate being off... can you elaborate on that?

yeah, i'm getting delta 1010 as soon as i can afford one.

Like the pitch has been increased as well of the speed of the song.

If thats what you were going for ,, then thats cool.

Probably so,

when I get to the studio tonight I will listen to it again.

awesome! thanks for the tips! i'll definitely play around with the high frequencies.

Pretty well played. Quite tight. Decent song - except for that small slower section in the chorus. To me it interrupts the song. Good vocals - sounds just like Gwen. :) Nice harmonies.

I'm not exactly sure how you tracked things. But it has kind of a "live" feel. There's a little "distant" sound to everything.

Something goofy going on during the intro. Like a tape reel slowed down or something.

Overall the mix is a little midrange and high-end heavy.

Little skip or something at 1:49. The bass solo around 2 minutes was cool, but pretty muddy sounding.

Lots of nitpicks, probably too critical. Anyway, I hope it helps make the song better.

thats where its always nice to have a college educated jazz student in your band! haha.

any tips on cleaning up the bass sound? i'm probably just gonna experiment with cutting around 200hz or so.
