Would it be wise or not to get 6 or 8 inch KRK rokits with the K10s that i already have? I have Samson Resolv A5's, and im not too sure i'm diggin them.

The room is a strange shape... In a basement with a small open kitchen and a small hallway sort of thing. I have some absorption (audimute sheets) behind my speakers now, and hanging in the corners of the room as well as some on bare walls. it's a medium sized area.. maybe no more than 18' by 16'ish.

Depends I guess. I have the rokit 8's and a sub (behry b2092a). I've listened to em without the sub and I'm not impressed at all. I admit I'm spoiled tho, I have subs in the car, on the family room stereo, the wife's pc, basically everything I ever listen on. Some ppl think rokit 8's are too bassy by themselves... Subs like k10s or b2092a will not produce chest-pounding boooming bass, they're just extending the flat frequency response a lot lower. A lotta ppl say (and they're kinda right) that you'll have a tendency to back the bass off in your mix, cuz it's so prevalent with the sub, but as long as you know how what you're hearing translates into on a normal playback system, you'll be fine. The low freq's are the hardest ones to get right in a mix IMO, so yeah, get a sub. Hear it, learn to translate it, and you'll know exactly what's going on down there in the lows. The sub has a crossover built into it to keep the response curve flat, so why NOT get one..
