Wow - love the tune and the execution is perfect. I like the way the bass fills in so much without being boomy. What is that vocal mic and the process - it has a really nice thickness. This is super !

Thank you for the kind words ido. The microphone was a JTS NX-8 vocal mic. The only processing was Lexicon Pantheon reverb. I added extra reverb to the backing vocalist to give her a sense of distance.

In Kiss Me, I also added that touch of distance to the accordian solo to make it sound like it was coming from some nearby back street rather than right there in your face. The Kiss Me guitar solo was the same solo recorded 6 times. I looped it six times with the intention of picking the best one when I accidentally played all layers at once and liked it :)

My missus loves this song & TV the series (she has the DVD set and soundtrack CD). Your version is quite faithfull to the original though your voice has a little touch of the celts in it that Jon didn't have - that's a bonus.
Good stuff!

Thanks RayC, always like to know when the work is appreciated :)

the guitar is direct? it has that sort of sound. i wish it was a little warmer. there's a little too much verb for me too. or just change some of the settings so it's not so springy.

what was the voice recorded with? dynamic w/o pop filter?

Yes the guitar is direct, I dont do that any more but I did when I recorded this. Ditto the pop filter. I always use one now but I didnt have one then. Ditto the reverb, I dont use as much now as I used to. I got over the novelty

I dont have access to the original tracks from which this song was mixed, only the final recording from my web archive so its one that I will have to do over some time

Yeah, my girl and I record instead of go out. we call it "date night". i can't say anything that hasnt been said. Mic the acoustic and different less reverb. very cool man
