o.k. here's the deal... i finally decided to get my 1950's awa 25watt head fixed. now, while that is in the shop, i am putting together a cab for it, initially i entertained the idea of replacing the speakers in my quad, but i thought that would be too big.. so i thought about putting two 12"s together.... would you belive i tested the 8 12" speakers i own and only two worked, one plessy alnico (16ohm) of which i originally had three, and a mysterious made in japan dual cone (8ohm) which i think came out of an organ. so i'm going with the plessey in a single cab, i think the dual cone may work well for keys or vocals, but i don't play live so its pretty much useless at the moment.

"WHAT IS YOUR POINT?"

hehehe, i thought you'd say that... well i purchased a box to house the speaker in and i have a few questions....

1. should the box be treated in any way, padding inside? internat eggcarton veneering?

2. the "breather hole", should that have a tube extending it toward the back of the box?

3. should drummers be banned from posting in the guitar and bass section :D (you dont have to answer that one)

it is for guitar, but i already bought an enclosed house for it dirt cheap from out the back of a music store under a bunch of old tyres.....

another question, is it possible to change the impeidance of a speaker (by using resistors or something)?
