Simultaneous Recording question

Hi, I'm relatively new to home recording, and I have a question.

The recording equipment I have right now is my computer, and Audiophile 2496 soundcard, and an Audio Buddy mic/intrument Preamp. The Audio Buddy has two inputs and two outputs, and the Audiophile 2496 has only one input. My question is: how can I record the two outputs of the Audio Buddy onto my computer as two seperate, independent channels (given that my soundcard only has one input)?

Right now, I am using Acid Music, and I'm not too sure if this would have the capability to do this kind of simultaneous recording. If it doesn't, what are some programs that do essentially act as virtual mixers?

Thanks for any advice.

According to everything I've read, the Audiophile 2496 is a 4-in, 4-out card. Try reading the manual -- your answer is probably right there and maybe, just maybe, will involve a stereo input jack...

Here's something else to have a look at instead of Acid music:

The demo version is fully functional for two weeks, and if you like it as much as I do it's only $80 to buy your own copy.

Another question

Oh yeah, another question: Do I just need a Y cable (1/4" unblanced or balanced male to 2 RCA males) to connect the output of the Audio Buddy (1/4" unbalanced/balanced) to the R/L RCA inputs of the Audiophile? Also, would it matter if I used a balanced TRS out for the Audiobuddy even though the input is only unbalanced (Do you think it would improve the sound quality?)?

And, what are some good brands of cable for a budget setup such as mine? What is a good online retailer for these brands?

Thanks again for any help.

if your new to recording read some of the free tutorials in the support section
(scroll down the page) at pgmusic.com. try some of the demoes if you wish.
if you have Q's - just ask.
a basic set up is to connect one audiobuddy output into say the left soundcard input, and second one into the right input.
you can get at radio shack (2 cables) and ask for a cable with male quarter inch on one end and male rca on tother. peace.
