What is the difference between " Rendering " a song, and " Exporting " the mix?

Rendering, exporting and bouncing are all the same things with different names in different browsers. Rendering is more of a video term, but it gets applied to audio as well.

Okay boulder guy, thanks. Its just that the program I'm using offers both of those options. Which one would you recommend that I use?

All I could say is try them both and listen for differences. I didn't realize there was a difference.

Yeah neither did I. I have used both, and they both take me to the same screen where I choose the properties of the exported material. I Thought it was pretty dumb that they have the 2 different options, but it makes sense if rendering is geared more towards video.

What software are you using? You could try looking it up in the manual.
