So I need a simple foot switch like this one:

http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/4801

Unfortunately, the one in the link isn't sold anymore, anywhere. So I'm just figuring I can make one.

The connection is a 1/8 jack, the pedal down is on, the pedal up is off.

If the 1/8 jack has a +, -, and ground connections, how does the wiring work?

+ to switch -> back to - ?

Thanks for any help.

I'd say it'd be easier just to buy a replacement... the sustain pedal for most electric pianos is a simple down-on, up-off switch, like this Yamaha:

Its 12 bucks, saves a lot of hastle in building housing and everything, but it has a 1/4" jack, so you would need to also pick up a cheap Radio Shack 1/4" female -> 1/8" male converter, or just buy a 1/8" male jack from radio shack, cut the 1/4" off, and put the 1/8" right on.

You're totally right. I don't know why I couldn't find this earlier. I swear I looked all over. Thanks again.
