Silly question about cool edit?

I suppose I could read the manual, but what the hell.

This should be the most simple thing to cool edit.

Dragging a damn wav in a track. You can cut, but you can't paste.
It won't let ya drag it to a new location.....

What's up with that? Did I miss something?

To move a segment somewhere else in the same track, right click and drag.

To move a segment to another track, right click and drag.

To copy a segment to another track, hold Control and right click and drag - it'll take a few seconds for Cool to copy the segment in the new location.
