Oh boy! In about a week, I'm starting tracking on "Silicon Theater" a 12 part science fiction radio play. For a paying customer?!. Aside from multiple voiceovers, action and car scenes, a lot of stock tracks will be required. Gunshots, doors slamming, traffic noise, sirens, etc. Of course, a lot of these we may track ourselves just to be perverse, but does anybody know a good source for stock tracks on CD that are in the public domain? My first pass on the insectoid alien voice is pretty cool. We are using a vocoder with a backing track from "The Swarm". Anybody got any experience with radio theater? I don't have huge amounts of physical space. So far, the quad noise gate is my friend.-Richie

Well, I guess that's the high priced spread. Did you check those prices? Also, I'm not looking for effects on CD-ROM. I need them on audio CD's. At those prices, I'll be mic'ing up a few doors, and a shotgun or 2, I can tell you.-Richie

Here's some very inexpensive but good quality sfx. Very nice packages. I've used them myself in my radio/TV commercials.

I saw the prices for CD's, and I'm sure they're worth it to some people. Many sounds are available individually for download, too. I checked on one door slam sound effect at random, and that particular sound is only $2.96 to download. They also have the "Dog Packs" libraries, which seem to be priced very reasonably.
