I would like to know if there is any cushion ring available,
or some DIY way to make a some sort of cushion that will
silence rim shots. I plan on making a practice Taiko drum (from a tom) which is played sideways. Also a standard rim really chews up sticks when hit from the side because of the outward direction
of the rim lip.
I see that Roland makes something in a 14" for their new adaptor
for their new Rhythm Trainer. Has anyone tried it?
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks.

You can buy vacuum hose tubing at your local auto parts store for about 20 cents a foot carefully cut it down one side with an exacto or razor blade.
