I haven't really had a chance to use them for recording a whole lot, though when I have the sound wasn't half bad. These are good stage mics though if your on a strict budget, they are good for vocals, and amps and aren't so bad on drums in a live situation. They are better than the dynamics cheaper and 20 dollars more. They have the same ruggedness as the sm58, and sm57 (I've dropped them several times and nothing has happened)
bottom line- I like them They work and sound good enough for me.
BTW i run them through a behringer MX602A mixer and a Audio Technica 1220 mixing console if that makes any difference.
