Anybody using this combo, and if so, how is it working for you?
On vocals specifically - I know it will do what I need as far as acoustic instrument recording. I want that versatility, but I also want it to make me pee myself with glee when I hear vox through it.

Thanks,

Brad

If you wanna pee on yourself, who's stopping you ?

Try it out, and if the urination factor reaches somewhere's close to defcom 4 or above, tell us about it.

Hmmm.... I've used a pair of TLM 103's Thru an art pro mpa to record piano, but I've never tried the ART on vox.

Try it and post something in the clinic!

Hmmmmm...it seems Michael has used one half of the system (ART MPA, but not w/ KSM-44) and I've used the other (KSM-44, but I've never heard the ART MPA). Well...I can say that the KSM-44 is not my favorite vocal mic through my pres (solid-state) on a lot of voices b/c it can be extremely clear and accurate, and I prefer the slightly warmed over sound of some other mics in my collection...that's just my humble opinion though. That having been said, it is still a fine mic and sometimes it'll really "click" on certain voices. Also, the fact that the ART unit is tube rather than solid-state will probably change the behavior of the combo a tad from the sounds I've heard out of the KSM-44. All I could say in the end is to try it and let us know how it works out.
