Hi guys...

I'm setting up a simple, cheap DAW... I have an M-AUDIO Fast Track USB which will allow me to record vocals and guitars. My question is, I'm kind of strapped for cash but I need a nice mic for vox and instruments.

Some people suggested the Shure c606. It's actually just a simple, cheap vocal mic, but I've read that some people use it for recording.

Any comments on this?

ive been using it for about a year, and it does the job fine. not amazing, but for the price, its very good.

all these songs (except drums) were done with using that mic (overdubbing obviously as i only have 1)-

i would definitely recommend it.

For what it cost, is one of the best mic! Very similar to the SM58

I use a C606 as a Floor tom mic and it actually works quite well, it is actually better than the SM57 for this particular application.....
