What do you folks think of this mic?

It's a larger diameter than the ECM-8000's I got, and I have no idea how it stands up to a mic like the MXL-603.

come ON guys...

Please gimme your opinions...

I have two of these that were pretty much GIVEN to me in an "over a sandwich and a beer" deal, and I want to know if I should keep them!

DUDE! USE THEM! A free mic is a free mic. (well, I'm not sure if you said free, but you said "pretty much given" which at least means very cheap). Anyway, I have no experience with 'em but they most likely have some useful application. The question is not whether to keep them, the question is, what should you try them out on first?

The beta greens were the pg series in the last marketing generation, aimed at the budget minded. they work but dont expect v603s results, you wont even get that with SM series.

I've got one and it works pretty well. What are you recording with it? if you want to sell it, pm me. I'd love to have one more to make a pair.

I've got one of these. Don't use it much since I picked up an SM-81. Try it in the applications in which you would typically use an SM57. It's got a similar sound, but a little thinner and crisper 'cause it's a condenser. Not a great mic, but not terrible either. It does an ok job on acoustic guitar.
