I've got the fostex 450, and it has eq on it of course. So what's the advantege of getting another eq unit? Thanks!
should I get a stand alone eq if there's already eq on the mixer?

Depends on how much $$ you have and what you want out of it.
EQ's have alot more stuff on them compared to the stuff built into most mixers.

A lot of (mostly "budget") EQ's just sound bad. Some degrade the sound quality just from being engaged.
