Probably not even worth opening a topic for, but I think we've come a long end with the Behringer B1. I'm just happy to achieve this quality with the microphone (now I think it's time to step up since we now know something about EQ'ing and compressing) that's why I'm posting this xD.

Speedyshare, this is the link to the file..

The vocals are recorded with Behringer B1 and into a Xenyx 802, no further soundcard.

Nobody can comment about the mixing of the vocals?

By the way it was mixed on an old 2.1 speaker set for the PC, I think it was from Sweex xD and all stock plug-ins (EQ and compressor) from Cool Edit Pro. We have better plug-ins and better gear but we just did this to test how good quality we could get with the worst gear we have.

The recorded sounds are good. The vox are nice and clean and present. The vox mix works.
And, yes, now it's time to step up to compression and EQ....al learn how to ruin the nice thing y' got goin' there. :^)

Sounds pretty good.

As for improvements, I would suggest considering a de-esser, as there was maybe a bit too much sibilants there, from time to time.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to add a de-esser but I have never really worked with a de-esser before. But I hear allot of good stuff about the Spitfish de-esser so I will try that one out.

I guess the next big step is getting a good interface with better pre-amps than this one has, and then getting a new microphone. We bought this one because it was cheap and not knowing how it would work together with our voices. For the next microphone we will be doing allot of testing.

But, not bad for 16/17 years old, right :P

C'mon man, upload the whole song... I don't see how anyone can comment on just 5 secs.

We only have the chorus + one verse wich isn't mixed.

This is the whole song till now: Speedyshare

The first verse still has to be recorded, and in the end we were just being stupid :P
