My mom called me yesterday, saying she was at an auction and that there was a guitar up. She couldn't tell me much about it and the internet had very little to offer two. It was an Aria II Pro 'The Cat' which started production in '86 I think. I told her to bid up to €100, I figured it was worth risking it. She called me back, saying she'd won it...for €250!

Got the guitar, looked n pretty rough shape. The humbucker was nice but the electrics were pretty faulty. It has a Kahler Roller trem which does look lovely. Took it to a specialist today and he said it needed fret-work...full repairs would come to around €375, so this is one guitar that is going back to auction next week. Kinda disappointed, but some people really massacre their guitars.

I have an '84 Aria Pro II Inazuma. The tailpiece and pickups on it are absolutely worthless, but the guitar is a player for sure. Great feel, very fast neck and great action.

Mine has an ugly-as-sin paint job, black and yellow tiger stripes. :D

There's actually a pretty good market for these guitars. If you find the right buyer, you could probably get premium dollar for it. its unfortunate that it is in need of such drastic repairs but maybe you can get lucky and find somebody that really wants one.

I love your mom, can she be my mom and buy me guitars?

Probably...she loves auctions!

Anyone know anything about the Kahler Trem? Was thinking of e-baying it.

A while back I got curious about the value of my guitar so I started Googling and came across this page (recently relocated):

http://matsumoku.org/guitars.html

If anybody would have any info on specific parts, the fellas in the forums there would. It may be worth posting and seeing if anybody there knows. I haven't been there lately so I don't know if the forums are still alive or not.

The gallery is the main asset of that page. They have catalog ads and stuff of just about every Aria Pro and Aria Pro II guitar and bass there. Cool stuff.

since I hadn't been there in a while, I started looking around the forums there. They have a catalog picture of my exact guitar (except for the paint job, which I'm starting to think was after-market):

Its the Inazuma III featured on that page. They really try to make that ACT-3 tailpiece sound like the shiz, but it sucks ass. The only thing its good at doing is breaking strings!

Yeah, I know I'm about to respond to a 3 year old thread, but whatever.

I just thought I'd say that my guitar teacher picked up "the cat" by Aria Pro II at a pawn shop for me when I was in grade 8. I didn't really know much about guitars then, so I didn't take care of it very well (unfortunately). To this day, I have still yet to play a guitar that has as nice an action as that guitar did. I don't remember if it sounded great, because I never had a decent amp to play it through. But it played so nicely. It was effortless. Unbelievable craftsmanship. Who knows about the electronics in it, though.

Unfortunately, that guitar got misplaced in one of my many moves, and I have been searching ever since for another one like it.
