short clip of mastered track (intro)

Just wanted to share part of a song i have been working on... (only part as i feel i want to re-work some bits here and there)

Rode NT1A
Samson C03
SE mic Filter
Art Pro MPA
Firestudio Project
Cubase 5

Plugins used

IK 670 compressor
Lexicon reverbs
Ferrics TDS
Vintage Warmer



Mastering plugins used:

SSl G-Master buss
Oxford EQ
Oxford Limiter
Ferric TDS


I would very much like some positive criticism on the mix and mastering etc.... i don't pretend to be an expert on either of these by any stretch of the imagination...

Do you want to post a sample that includes vocals and drums? Those are usually the most challenging things to mix...

This sounds fine. I might trim some low end from the lead guitar, it clashes with the rhythm at the start.

this particular song has no drums, I will definitely upload a snippet with vocals (next thing to record) thanks for your feedback, i will cut some low end from the guitar

it measures -8.5LUFS as an average loudness in wavelab! I really don't understand why this needs mastering? especially to that kind of volume
