(EDIT) 2 Acoustic songs 'Dee' and one I wrote

This is a recording I made a little while ago. It's a song called 'Dee' written by Randy Rhoads.

I recorded it direct from my Cort acoustic/electric straight into a SoundBlaster Live 24-bit (still saving up for a mic/soundcard)...

I used Adobe Audition 1.5 to record, Izotope Ozone 3 for EQ, and GlaceVerb for reverb.

Any opinions/suggestions would be appreciated. :)

I may re-record it as there are a few small mistakes, but I just did one take.

Let me know what you think.

Dee

Edit: I just recorded another little acoustic thing I came up with and decided to post it here instead of creating another thread.

Here's the link

Good short song!
The recording is not too bad!

Keep on going!

A classical sound. Sounds like an acoustic electric. It's pretty nice. The recording is clean. I have a song called Dee as well. What a fluke!

Thanks for the replies. This was my first time using Izotope's Ozone and I think it helped the sound quite a bit. GlaceVerb is also a good plugin, probably the most realistic reverb I've used so far...

Anyway, thanks again for the feedback.

nicely done. One of my favorite pieces too - written by Randy Rhoads for his mom Dee. I love playing this piece on the twelve string, I only wish I could nail some of the little details like you can. ;)

Danny,

I'd say based on the basic setup you have for equipment you did a fine job. Also your touch is very good on the guitar. Good job.

Thanks! :)

Here's one I came up with just now & recorded, let me know what you think.

Acoustic Prelude

I think I did a better job with this one as far as the recording goes.

Hey man, I listen to your song and give you a compliment. Why did you give me a grey chicklet?!?

A grey chicklet is from someone with no rep points, as far as I know it is not a negative rep point. As soon as he has some points he will dish out green chicklets. You have to have 50 posts before you can accumulate any rep points!

It's all cool RezN8..... :)

I would if I could find the songs to listen to!!????????????????   :o

I've been playing this piece for like 12 years, and I cant imagine ever getting it right on a 12 string, yikes! Hard enough as it is.

Learn Diary of a Madman if you havent already. Thats some incredible work from RR there at the beginning. A couple of those chords are brutal if you play it right.

I finally got to listen to Dee, some nice playing there, a little pingy here and there but nonetheless a sweet little tune written for Randy's Mum.

Thanx for re-posting danny!! :)

Thanks, Gorty. You're right, it is a little 'pingy' especially in the beginning. I'll probably do another take not too long from now. It's a real tedious song to get just right.
