That figure was adjusted for inflation. You only get 1000 ohms for what you used to get 1,000,000 ohms back in 1960.

A V5 or an AC4 sounds pretty good with a Green Rhino OD or an OCD in front.
Many people are liking the RP 355 also. The only other pedal I am really liking right now is a Dirty Bomb, although getting a Corona Chorus is helpful.
Another route is to get a ZT Lunchbox for starters, and then get a 1x12 with a Tonkerlite in it later on. That will cover the clean channel, but will still need dirt pedals.
