Shockmount needed?

I have a Rode NTK and have never recorded with a shockmount. I'm thinking of buying one and have searched this topic, but it seems the reasoning given for having one doesn't really pertain to me. I record my vocals solo, without other instruments playing at the same time (no rumble). Also, I'm in a carpeted basement, so I don't really think I get any floor noise. Waste of money?

not a "waste" of money, but it most likely won't help you at all if you are already satisfied with the recordings you are making.

If you don't get the shock mount you'll be missing out on the cool factor of hanging your NTK upside down.
