I can see the lawsuits coming! Luckily, I have NO idea who played this song! ;)

Enjoy!

.....so that's what it sounds like to be working in the trenches.....:D

Awesome. Drums are very tight sounding, fitting though. The bass sounds great. Guitars were a bit trebly in my opinion. Cool song.

that song kicks ass!! I'm listening on some event TR8 monitors, and i think the bottem end is just a bit weak.....add some meat to the bass guitar and the bass drum, it needs more thump! Then this song will really be awesome! very clever....the solo is good....i like all the different panning techniques that you used! the guitars sound fantastic! great playing all the way around!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!

Ed,

You really know what you’re doing….

Super sound, sweet, clear, dynamic and spacious. BRAVO !

Just one little negative comment, in my very humble opinion, I hear some slight key problems in the lead vox.

5 stars for the awesome sound. I hope to one day to get to half of your record talent.

smellyfuzz, I could play you some tracks that were far worse than that one. With only a hour each song to mix, AutoTune was NO option at all. Think of the pitch problems as adding "charm" to it. :D

Ed

Yeah, lol...those backup parts are painful. Rest of the track kicks ass. I'll even let him get away with the finger tapping...was any of it sampled? That part starting @ 1:55 is a bitch to play in time...I think I did it ... once.

NO samples anywhere. All real tracks that used mic's, except the DI'ed bass guitar.

absolutely hated the song.. I don't get it at all..

of course the recording is good..

Ditto. What is that? Recording is very, very nice.

See, there's this obscure singer named Ozzy Osbourne, and he did this song called "Crazy Train," and parts of this recording sound like parts of this "Crazy Train" song. Now, Sharron Osbourne is this Ozzy bloke's wife, and she was also his manager for at least the initial part of his solo career, after his stint with this even more obscure band called "Black Sabbath." But I digress.

Actually Ed, it's probably fine for them to do this; they just give up any hope of negotiating the % on the royalties if it ever sells anything. Of course, with that crazy bitch, you never know...

sonus!!!!!

Thats real clever.................I had to smile when I heard this one.
I was never a big fan of late 80's metal but I can see the BIG HAIR flying around during this song:D :D :D

yes chris, we all saw the VH-1 special.. of course (being the big Ozzy fan that you are), I'm sure you picked up the 'Over the Mountain' outro as well..

like I said, I don't get it..

Sounds kinda familiar, but I can't quite place it...

The art of originality is concealing your source, and I think you have truly acomplished this here...

Can I have your autograph?

(perhaps a tribute band is in order?)

Sounds great Ed.

The mix is perfect... The snare is tuned way to high and sounds very staccatto and high pitched...I guess I just like fatter snares.... But thats a drum tuning thing, not a mix thing..

What really stands out for me is the sound of the toms... Awesome!

Joe

I thought the guitars sounded really "fake" and like a cheezy POD setting or something. But, I think many people like that sound nowadays. I like PODs, J-stations and such...but this sound on this tune doesn't sound "tweaked". I also think there needs to be more low end on the guitars. There is too much down the middle.

I kinda wanted to hear a cover version of the intro actually. The song had that "corny" feel to it...

Song and mix sounded tight...whatever that means nowadays too... crisp cutoffs, distinct, punch, uncluttered sounds, each in their own space.
