My dad took me to the music store on my 16th birthday and got me this $80 Kay series guitar. I lent it to a friend years back and have not seen it since. Well, a few days ago she returned to her happy original owner with satisfying setiment

ahhh happy endings :)

...and I'll bet this guitar has seen its share of E.Vanhalen splits and Y.Malmstien over-the-shoulder strap-lock spins...huh?

All the world is a stage when jumping off of the bed and looking into the dresser mirror.......:D

JC Penney is well known for their varied and high quality selection of musical instruments. When I was 13, I got a "flying V" from JC Penney. Man, I rocked. Did you rock when you got that?

:D
:D

I smashed my first ($13) guitar on the basement floor when it wasn't good enough anymore...I was 8 years old. My first brush with G.A.S....
That was 20 years ago...Nowadays there are things like trade-ins to consider :)

You should smash the living shit out of this guitar. Do me proud.

haha

Nah... this guitar and I didnt have that much glamour.

It was just many endless nights on the edge of my bed trying to understand why certain notes sounded better together than others.

Sluice.. Yours nuts :(

I know shes ugly, but we had some of the best nights together :)

Would you start your girlfriend on fire?

Ummm.. nevermind :)

*edit Sluice.. Your nuts :( No reference to sluices' nuts :D

That thing looks like it has quite a few miles on it!

And ugly is in the eye of the beholder.

Anyway, that Kay's a FINE instrument as compared to my first guitar, a no-name-almost-fender-copy! It didn't even rate as an actual Fender-copy! I didn't even buy it, someone gave it to me! [READS: It was a throwaway].

My first guitar met it's fate after I got my first Ibanez, and I had given it to my teenage brother-in-law,... who took it to one of his friends' house, propped it up against the couch, and someone accidentally STEPPED on it, snapping it in TWO!

Aah, the memories! You never forget your 'first'! Haha.

My first electric was a Kay as well! Semi hollow body with two pickups covered with a square mile of clear plastic. I traded it in on a ES 335 Gibson and never wanted to see the Kay again! Thank god, SHE never came back!

Hey man, that thing's a freaking *Cadillac* compared to what I played for years: a piss-yellow vaguely strat-shaped thing which boasted a "made in Korea" label (peeling off) and no other discernable form of identification. The high E string was a good 2 inches higher than the rest of the strings, there were dots on *every* fret and there was a small, perfectly round hole straight *through* the thing, down near where the volume knob had once been. And keeping it in tune was not even an option...

Ah, the good old days...

Chris

that guitar doesnt look too bad to me.. then again, I have never payed over 300 dollars for any guitar.. (except my 5 string bass which I rarely use) I usually spend a lot on the pickups though..

wanna sell it?

I see a set of 012's raised up on that puppy and a piece of brass tubing on ma pinky. Slide geetar! Yeah!!! :D
