The link leads you to a version of Sewer Song with vocals.
I had to re record the basic 3 guitars and bass as all I had left from the original project was a stereo mix as a wave file & Faderbug's gtr/synth tracks.
I've recorded bass, 2 rhythm and a lead gtr (no solo from me though) using the wave file as a guide. Terry came up with an urban impressionistic lyric & melody & sent me an MP3 of that (effects embedded) and a flute solo (similarly effected).
I converted the MP3s and dropped them all into the rerecorded cakewalk bed.
Still needs a drum track but someone has already volunteered to risk their reputation on that.
Whilst it's nowhere near a finished mix - the drum will require the basics of this to be re EQ'd - I'd like any opinions or directions on what we have thus far.
Oh, still haven't my recording comp back - dead since NYEve. I did this on an old P3 with 256 meg ram & 4 Gig HDD using a Santa Cruz soundcard & running at 16 bit. Bummer eh?
Cheers

Interesting sounds man. I think the vocals could come out a bit more...just a smidge. Has a cool vibe though...very interesting.

The music seems to be good so far, not much to recommend there. The vocals are fluctuating in volume. The lower the notes, the more it disappears into the music. I have the exact same issue when recording and I've changed the key on one song/used proximity effect on another to fix that. Vocals (actually everything) should be recorded with effects in the headphones but not to tape. Otherwise you may get issues trying to get them to sit together in the same "room" once you apply reverb to the whole mix. The already effected stuff will fade further away from the rest of the material. I'd suggest a retake with no effects to tape and use proximity effect to even out the vocals. It will make the mix that much easier to work on. The effect itself is cool so you might ask Terry which plug in he's using so you can recreate when mixing down.
Tell Terry he's written a good melody for the music. It's all well performed, and I dig the cool flute....
:cool::D:cool::D

I like the vibe of the song, Ray,

Cool effects with the synth and the flute effects are enticing. Wish I knew what reverb setting was embedded in that one. Sort of like Ian Anderson.

Cool lyrics, but I liked the original lyrics, too. You know they don't match in Soundclick, right?

When you click on lyrics, you get the whole circus waving stumps at the moon thing, which I like, too.

Xeries,
The flute's effect:
GPL's Gverb found in Audacity
Room size 75.75
Reverb time 7.575
Damping 0.5
Input bandwith 0.75
Dry signal -70
Early reflection level 0.0
tail level -17.5
Terry's may attempt the older lyrics. The newer lyrics is on s/click now.
Thanks for the kind comments.
Ido,
Terry sent the tracks as a sketch - I bunged them in to listen for the changes. I've reworked it with a high pass filter to lift it from the song sludge & will post it asap.
Thanks for the detail yet again.
Dogman,
ALLO! 'tis done. I'll drop the link in here when it's uploaded.
Thanks mate!

I think the vocals are sounding better with the high pass. More presence on them I believe. This is a pretty good vocal even if it's not a final version...

Pretty cool rayc...

The verses remind me of Public Image Limited for some reason. This is definitely one of the more offbeat offerings from someone who thrives on being offbeat.
