Setup help

Hi, I'm unable to get my recording software to pick up the sound of my guitar and mic I'm using a tascam us-122l a usb connection to interface my mic and guitar with my laptop. I'm also using Guitar tracks pro 3.0 for my software. The interface is receiving the mic and guitar imput. The interface drivers are all loaded and when I connect the usb line my laptop is reconizing the interface as I do not get a baloon about new equip detected. So I can only assume that the software is not picking up the signal. Thanks for all the help?

Never used Guitar tracks pro 3.0, but did you somehow tell it to use the tascam as the audio device, sometimes programs default to onboard sound first. Look for device setup, or audio device setup, or something along those lines.
