Hey, I own an Emac 700mhz with a poxy 128mb RAM. I want to turn this into as good a home studio as I can.
I can only upgrade RAM so I will to 1gb.
I was thinking a firewire hard drive as i only have 40gb and a firewire interface.

Will this give me say 16 tracks audio on cubase sx using various plug ins and eq's/compression?

Any feedback would be appreciated...

that sounds like it might work. I'm not too familiar with mac processor speeds though. firewire is a good way to go.

The computer doesn't do anything that affects the quality of your recordings, so better questions involve mics, preamps, effects, sound interface, monitors, etc.
