Setting Up...

Ok...Ive wanted to get into recording for awhile....But i finally have alittle money so I decided to start rolling...

I have Sonar.
Soundcard: MAudio Omni Studio Omni I/O and Delta 66 Package
Mixer: Behringer UB2222FX Pro Eurorack 22
Compressor: Behringer MDX4600 Multicom Pro-XL Compressor
And I have 4 mics

Now I think I have the idea what to do. But to reassure me, can someone give me a basic setup on how to connect everything?..or your opinion on how youd set it up? Id greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Hey there. I have a similar setup (minus the compressor.) Just run the mics into the pres on the mixer. Then go out of the mixer into the sound card. Use the VU meters on the computer to set the levels. Press Record and play away!

Just wanted to jump in here with this question. Ok after you set it up like that, When you play back to mix it down, will you be able to change the sound using the mixing board? Get what im asking? or no?

I'm sure you can do that, although I find it's easier to do my mixing within the software. Adjusting levels, panning, etc. is super easy that way.
