ok. first time poster. get that outta the way.
i have:
- an intel iMac w/Garageband
- a TASCAM DA-38
- a Mackie 1604 mixing board
- a MOTU ultralite
i have about 20 hours worth of stuff i wanna dump from TASCAM tapes to the computer, just to archive it to disk (plus i wanna sell the TASCAM) using Garageband - the problem is, the MOTU Ultralite only has 6 1/4" inputs (which are good for 6 of the tracks coming from the TASCAM) but then it has 2 inputs, which fit 1/4", but which also accomodate a mic cable...these 2 inputs i believe have mic preamps, because when i go to route 8 tracks thru the ultralite, the 2 channels which are using the 'mic' inputs on the ultralite are way too hot. is my only option routing those two through my board first to drop the signal? will that work?
anybody own the Ultralite? if so, how do you find it?
thanks,
Damo
