someone help a brother out...
I recently bought this recording bundle: m-audio profir 610 package. search it on guitar center. it has these components:
Profire 610 firewire recording interface
Fostex PM0.4n powered studio monitors
pro tools 8
at2020 cond. mic

I installed the software for pro tools, got the driver installed for the interface and that all went pretty smooth. (im using a mac book pro) The computer detects the interface so there isnt an issue there i dont think. But when i plug the monitors into outputs one and two of the interface(using TS connectors) i am not able to get sound on my computer. When i go to preferences to change it to the profire 610 for output, it says it has no output control. How do i get my monitors hooked upright so i get sound? I just need to test them with iTunes so i can get them positioned right. Someone please walk me through this, cause im a noob and dont know anything. I followed the instructions from the manuals and still nothing. I cant find anything on the web to help me get my stuff set up. If someone could just give me a "step by step" guide, that'd be rad. please help me out.

thanks,
CW

Also, if someone knows a link to a site/video/guide to help, post it for me. thanks!

itunes probably isn't going to run on your profire soundcard. If you want to listen to itunes or other sounds from your computer on your monitors, you need to find a way to plug them directly into your computer, maybe using a 1/8 to RCA. Probably the only sounds you can run through your interface's soundcard are sounds from your DAW. This is the case for me at least. If you don't get any sound from the computer's sound card, you might need to unplug the interface.

ok. Im currently using my interface with garage band. When i go to preferences and switch the audio output to the interface, i still cant get any sound. do you know what the problem might be there?

Record the output of the Mac soundcard into the Profire to create a WAV file to use as a reference.
