Perhaps your firewire cables?? Perhaps the order of your firewire devices?? Perhaps a bad drive??

Try eliminating the audio drive and record a test track to the internal drive.

Many solutions on the Digi web site for -6093 errors. Most if not all contain some sort of firewire device combination problem...

here's just one:

DAE error -6086, -6085 and -6093 buffer errors when playing back a session on a Mac G5 with Digi 002.
Problem was solved by connecting the Digi 002 to the front Firewire port on the Apple G5 computer.

Note: Make sure to power down the Digi 002 before connecting it to the front Firewire port on G5.

yeah, bassntreble also recommended over at PTForum that you plug it into the front port.
also make sure that the Mac OS isn't trying to use the 002 as it's soundcard before you get a chance to boot up pro tools. You can't use the 002 for both OS and PT at the same time.

Plugged the firewire from the digi002 to the front of the MAC and wah-lah, all my troubles went away. At least i don't feel like a complete idiot. Now, this also brings up the issue of what the hell is wrong with my firewire port? Should I contact Apple or Digi. Both of these units are only a few days old. Any Thoughts? Thanks Again for everyone's help, without you guys I would have been daisy chaining these units from my bumper last night.

Firewire ports do go bad but it's HIGHLY unlikely that's the problem here. If you search Digi's data base this does not seem like an uncommon problem. If the 002 works hanging off the front of the Mac and the drive works hanging off the back then so be it...fairly easy work-around.

This IS the case...yes???

Joseph,
Yes, everything seems to be working properly (although I am only at the very basic tracking level now) Benny mentioned a good point on the other board, that the firewire on the front of the MAC might dedicated where the ones on the back share resources. Anyway, I'll keep plugging playing around with it, I just migrated from a Yamaha Aw4416 to PTools (and MAC's) this week.
Thanks again for all of the help.
