Setting up cubase is a nightmare

I am trying to use my new samson CO1U studio condenser mic (USB) with cubase but I cant get it to recognise it, the mic works fine everywhere else but not there. can anyone help me figure this out plz?

If the mic is not ASIO compatible cubase will not be able to use it.

Make sure your drivers are updated.

not sure if the condenser mic is asio compatible, how would I tell? It is a samson C01U Studio condenser Mic that hooks up via a USB port. I am also running an M-Audio Mobile Pre USB pre amp for my gitfiddles, drum machines (that arent comp based), turntables etc. I'll try the links you all gave me Thanx everybody for your help and wish me GL.
