I am setting up a new home studio, and need assistance with the signal path.
My pertinent gear includes:
TEAC 3 Tascom series mixer - 8x8x4x2
Audiophile 24/96 2x2 sound card
SBLive! sound card (for soundfonts)
Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.03
Right now , I'm set up as follows:
- Buss outputs one and three (of four total)from the mixer to the Audiophile left and right inputs
- Audiophile left and rioght outpust to channel one and two on the mixer
- SBLive L and R output to channel 3 and 4
The channels each have thier own corresponding submixer control, which I can mix to headphones for the musicians.
The headphones can ALSO be switched to directly monitor output 1, 2, 3, or 4 - left or right each.
I wish I could go into more detail here, but I don't really understand the mixer in teh first place.
SHould I be patching teh sound cards output to a "monitor" input, to free up channels, or are there other ways to do this?
HELP!!!! <grin>
Thanks,
Gavin
