today i went out and got an audio technia studio pack (AT2041SP), consisting of one large diaphragm and condenser and one small diaphragm condenser. I plan on recording acoustic guitar in stereo.

I've seen several different pictures of mic setups for acoustic recording for the situation of two identical microphones. For example, one mic at the 12th fret, and one at roughly the bridge.

If I wanted, say, to do essentially this setup, would I want my large diaphragm mic at the bridge, or at the 12th fret?

thanks

It's probably just a matter of personal preference, but I would probably go LDC at the bridge 6-12" out and the SDC at the 12th fret same distance out. But try it both ways until you find what makes you happy. :)

I often use an LDC on the body and an SDC on the neck, and I believe that's not an uncommon technique.
