i thought i could apply my drum patterns to my track field, but it seems the FX button is inactive. HELP?

console view my friend

i believe you have to be in the console view to use session drummer....click on console view and when it comes up right click on the black area and it should bring up the session drummer option and then click on it...to get to the session drummer field double click session drummer when it appears in the black area and it should bring it up...

you may wanna consider buying cakewalk power by scott garrigus..it's been a helpful book for me.

You can apply the sesion drummer in both views. On a single track in the FX bin.
If you want the midi to show up in the track field...
set up session drummer with the proper loops loaded
highlight the session drummer track for editing
and then go to depending on what version cakewalk you have
either
edit/apply midi effects
or
process/midi effects/cakewalk/session drummer/ok
when the track is printed make sure to disable the session drummer so you don't hear doubled notes.

GOOD LUCK!

Just a side note
It's a good idea to save any songs you are currently working on as .sdx files for an easily loaded backup that does use much space.
Just in case the original track gets lost or out of hand.
