I have some 545s (old SM-57) and the one I can find has gone dead in storage.

1: Is there anyone who does service on these other than Shure?

2: I know Shure has a flatrate service fee on their microphones, but does anyone know what it runs and if it's economical? I've never been able to reach their service department to find out.

3: Barring satisfactory outcomes to 1: & 2: above, does anyone know how to disassemble this configuration? I think I can probably fix this (I've done other microphone repar with no trouble) if I could get it apart, as I think it's just a corroded lead, but these are real puzzles to disassemble.

As always, thanks for any help.

Never mind...I got Scott Dorsey to tell me how to take it apart and I repaired it myself.

Shure will do a flatrate exchange on its regular dynamic microphones for $55, which is hardly worth it for a SM-57.
